Claudia Kraus (b. 1970) lives and works as a visual artist and writer in Vienna. She studied Communication Sciences and Psychology at the University of Vienna and mainly works with photography, video, painting/drawing and sculptures.
Claudia Kraus focuses on expanded sensual perception of nature and mental landscapes. She particularly reflects on the topics absence/presence and the meaning of relations. Textures and layers are a recurring theme in her formal approaches.
Her works are shown in several solo and group exhibitions in Vienna, Budapest, London, Melbourne, Miami and published in a number of national and international magazines as Mobiography Magazine, Photo/Foto Magazine and Fiber. Claudia Kraus is a member of female photographers Vienna and the collective 280 A Artspace.
